Before dinner, through the hard working efforts of Bill Sernesky, five boxing exhibition bouts brought roars of approval from the crowd despite the fact that each bout was declared a draw by Master of Ceremonies, Rupe Clowes. With Harry Ganja as referee, the local pugilists engaged each other as follows: Johnny Galvin (70 lbs.) vs. Terry Cavanaugh (72 lbs.); Paul Cavanaugh (105) vs. George DeLong (100); "Punky" Parks (120) vs. Carl Bews (127); "Slitz" Lawrence (130) vs. Van Dean Graf (150); Bill Sernesky (140) vs. Ray Paquin (151). Timekeeper (with spoon and skillet) was Ed Brady. Following the boxing, dinner was served and while the dishes were being cleared away Rupe Clowes led the gang in a rousing sing 'song interspersed with vocal solos and duets by Don Gow, Eddie Le Blane, Bob Sheppard and Paul Boudreau, President Ed Brady reviewed the activities df both the House League and the Terrace Bay team entry in the North Shore League. The financial report was then read by Secretary- Treasurer Paul Boudreau. Andreas Christensen, Mill Manager and H. S, "Ham" Craig, General Manager of LongLac Pulp and Paper Co., and G. R. Stephens, Vice-President and General Manager of Fraser Brace Engineering spoke briefly. Each in turn extended congratulations to the hockey executive and members of all teams for their efforts in making the past season such a success. To President Ed Brady went the "Rookie" award. The "Mug" was presented in a most humourous manner by Russ LeCouter. Glen Gooderham was called upon by M.C. "Rupe! Clowes to explain one of the mysteries of the past season which he did so to the delight of' those present, Highlight of she evening, of course, was the presentation of the Northern Wood Pres servers trophy to the winning team in the House League - Mechanics. Presented on behalf of the doners by C. G. McWha, Treating Plant Superintendent, the trophy was received on behalf of the winning team by Jim Clancy. Mr. McWha expressed regrets that S. F. Mack, General Superintendent of Northern Wood Preservers was unable to attend the banquet and present the trophy. Head table guests included: Ed Brady, "Ham" Craig, Andreas Christensen, Gorden Stephens, Rupe Clowes, Gcerdon Bird, Eddie Marnell, Charlie McWha, Cy Camplong, Bill Pryde, Gordon Rowlandson, Paul Boudreau, Murdo Campbell, Fred Soughton and Elmer Dion. 000 TERRACE GROCETERIA OFFICIALLY Aa OPENED IN SHOPPING CENTRE Yesterday morning (April 14th) promptly at 9:30 a.m. the doors of Terrace Groceteria were officially opened at their permanent location in the modern Terrace Bay Shopping Centre. i Welcomed by the proprietor G. M. Lumbers, the first dozen customers in order were as follows: Mrs. Charlie Evans, Mrs. A. Berezowski, Mrs, F. Melfi, Mrs, K, Lindstrom, Mrs. M. R. Lemon, Mrs. D. J. M, McCausland, Mrs. Dave Middleton, Mrs. Andreas Christensen, Mrs. Gordon Stewart, Mrs, Richard Frick, Mrs. R. Seed and Mrs, L. N. Roberts.
