It was the third game of a best-in-three series, each team having won a game in two previous encounters. Poor ice conditions at Terrace Bay due to mild weather forced transfer of the game to the covered Schreiber Arena. A special bus was chartered for the occasion, so that supporters of both teams could do a little rooting. Eleven minutes after the start of the first period, Campbell banged one in from Enstrom to put the Office ahead. In the dying moments of the period, Mechanics tied the score with a goal by Cavanaugh assisted by Cameron. At the beginning of the second period less than a minute had elapsed when Campbell fired the puck into the net for the Office Staff, but the score was tied again mid-way through the period with Cavanaugh getting the credit for the counter, assisted by Guitar. In the third period, Cameron scored for Mechanics assisted by Cavanaugh and Guitar but the game was tied again with two minutes to go when Jack Enstrom tallied, assisted by Gow, Going into overtime, however, is a different story. The fact that the Office Staff had weathered sixty minutes of hockey with but ten players began to take its toll. In short order the Mechanics scored two goals with Guitar and LeBlanc getting the credit and the Championship was in the bag, Throughout, the entire game was filled with exciting plays and rushes by both teams.
