The Tl-Employees, 1947 form, will be issued to employees by their employer, The employees should answer the questions on both sides of the form and forward the form to the nearest office of The Inspector of Income Tax (in the case of Terrace Bay, this office is located in Fort William). It is unnecessary for the employee to make any tax calculation or to send any money with this form. We should like to emphasize that the following taxpayers may not use the new form under any circumstances: 1. any taxpayer whose salary or wages in 1947 totalled more than 33,000. ee Any taxpayer who worked for more than one employer during 1947. 5, Any taxpayer who was employed for less than twelve months during 1947, 4, Any taxpayer who received more than $100. from interest and dividends during 1947. 5; Any taxpayer who received income from any of the following sources: (a) Rentals (c) Professional Fees (e) Annuities) (g) Farming (b) Business profits (d) Commissions (f) Alimony (h) Estate Income 6, Any taxpayer claiming foreign tax credits 7. Any taxpayer claiming credits for gifts to the Crown, 8, Any taxpayer claiming "partial" dependents. (A partial dependent is one who is supported by two or more taxpayers and whose exemption is split among those tax- payers.) 9, Any employees whose wife or husband received income in excess of $250 during 1947. Any of the above taxpayers must use the usual Tl Special Form or T.1 General Form and comply with the regulations which govern them, 0-0-0 FIRE PREVENTION IS GOOD HOUSEKEEPING A recent Canadian Press report states that since ee Bavaria last Sunday, 47 lives have been lost in Canada due to fires and property damage is in excess of $2,500,000, This appalling loss of life and property should put everyone doubly on their guard at Terrace Bay, The cardinal rule of fire prevention is, of coursé, good housekeeping, no matter where we are - in the home - in the bunkhouse - or in any other phase of the great Terrace Bay project. Every precaution has been taken to provide facilities, equipment, and a volunteer fire brigade to be used ain the. event 'of fire, Let us all do our part, however, in preventing fires from starting.
