Page #3 SOCIAL CLUB DANCE A FEAL SUGCESS Eighty six couples attended the first sponsored activity of the newly formed Terrace Bay Social Club when a dance was held in the new Recreation Hall on Friday, August 15th. The affair was very weil organized and the executive of the newly formed organization is to be congratulated for their splendid efforts. The executive consists of: President, Ab Keehn; Vice-President, Ruth Bangartt; Secretary, Ann Wallie; Treasurer, Frank Madden and Social Committee Chairman, Ina Parker. In addition to Ina Parker, the Social Committee consisted of Peggy Miller, Irene Edmond, Walt Lemiski, Harry Ganja and Ken Weppler. At the door the evening of the dance were Bob Turner and Murdo Campbell. Checking: Dick Day and Bill Robertson, Master of Ceremonies: Ken Weppler, In charge of musical recordings: Nick Dodds, Visitors from Winnipeg, Mr. & Mrs. Howe, won the first spot prize and were also the winaers of the door prize. drawn by Mrs. H. S. Craig. The second spot prize went to Mr. & Mrs. Dave McDonald. During the lunch hour everyone thoroughly enjoyed the accordion music provided by Herb Gellert. The executive of the Social Club wish to thank all those who assisted so ably in making the dance 4 success. TEMPORARY STORES TO OPEN SOON Temporary stores, located in the Lower Camp, which ; will serve until the permanent shopping centre is completed in the Townsite, will cpen for business in the near future at Terrace Bay. "udson Bey Company Limited will be operating a General Store including groceries while "Terrace Groceteria" cperated by Mr. G. M. Lumbers will carry & con- plete line of groceries, meats and fresh vegetables. Terrace Bay housewives in particular will certainly welecme most heartily the opportunity of shopping within the community. Until now, Terrace Ray residents have had to depend upon outside points for provisions except for the operation of "Terrace Bay Co-op", a small co-operative buying group, We hope to be able to announce the opening dates of our stores in the next issue of this paper. In the meantime, it is of interest to note in passing that store fixtures were moved in tc the temporary Hudson Bay Store yesterday. Grading of the huge wood yard is just about 50% complete and there are rumors that some of the boys are eying with envy what might be a potential golf driving range. c ya a HERE AND THERE Perc Sully, his wife and daughter have just returned from a 2 month trip to North Hollywood, California, While in the film capital, the Sullys saw such screen notables as Edward G, Rcbinscn, Hal Roach and Betty Grable, Pere spent a half a day with the English playwright, Tom Milier. While in La Crenta, California, the Sullys visited Mr. & Mrs. J. G, Craig, parents of LcngLacis Manager, H. 5. Craig.
