As a matter of fact, said lights have been mistaken on twc or three occasions already for a harvest moon, Tut! Tut! -o00- Twenty-three houses have been erected to date in the Townsite as part of the '47 program. The seventy-five houses of the '46 program are virtually complete except for some exterior paint- ing. ~00o- Rumour has it that the Covington piano has been taking a terrific beating lately, due tc the neighbourly visits of Townsite fclk who just love to tickle the ivories. -o0c=- Since the influx cf Braser-Brace families tc the Townsite, it is noticeable that landscape artists are at work almost every night. Rumours are flying that there might be a prize for the best "set-up". One gentleman has a classy terraced rock garden while his dad goes for lawns and flowers. Our dough is on the deacon, -o00- Netice regarding the opening of a temporary "Terrace Grcceteria" is contained elsewhere in this issue: It will also be of interest to record the fact that ground was broken in the Townsite en July 19th for the shopping centre, TERRACE BAY _ANGLERS! CONTEST During the past week, there has been no change in the standings of the Terrace Bay Anglers! Contest as reported in our last issue. Prizes of $5,00 and $2.00 are cffered in each of four classes, speckled trout, lake trout, pike and pickerely so come on gang, turn 'em in for weighing at the Post Office to official judge Postmaster Eddie Cavanaugh. -c0o- ON THE LAKESHORE By Walt Lemiski Prorress is slow but sure on the installation of the 48" concrete pipe. To date, three 36-foot length sections have been laid and the excavation for the fourth has been begun. On the pumphouse itself, the screen chamber is taking form with a portion of the concrete walls poured. Retaining walls of sheet piling are to be driven in about a week from the pumphouse to the lake. These are to facilitate the placement of the concrete intake pipe into the Lake. On the west side of the Bay, R.Ostling and his boys are still gunking the dresser couplings. The expert on this gunking procedure is Bob Davidson. Incidentally, Bob has a new nickname -- wonder where he got it, One thing that the boys on the Lakeshore can boast about is the good tans they got. There were cnly a few hot days but they sure tcok advantage of them! -o0o= -o0o- MILLSITE DATA Boiler house steel is now 100 per cent erected and rivited and the steel for the recovery boiler is more than 50 per cent erected. -o0c- The erection cf the 100,000 gallon water tank by Horton Steel Works adds another impcsing feature to cur fast expanding sky line. ei
