When they first came into the camp, the foreman paired them off into sawing gangs for the season. This particular Fall, the foreman was doing fine at pairing them off (Ole got his job again as barn-boss for Paul Bunyan) and he had only two men left, so he said to 'Shorty', "How about you pairing off with 'Slim'?" 'Slim' said, "OK, but you tell 'Shorty' I don't talk very much". So they start- ed to work and everything went fine all winter. When Spring came, 'Shorty' said, "Neither do I". To date, four concrete basements have been erected with many more ready to be poured. It shouldn't be long until we see more houses blossoming over-night. Murray McNight of Ontario Construction has brought his 3/4 Yard Northwest Shovel down from the Millsite and is busy dig- ging more basements, while son Gord McKnight continues with his Osgood Shovel, digging sewer and water lateral lines to the houses, Considerable attention has been directed lately to sub-surface exploration in the future hospital and sewage disposal plant areas. Many engineering problems are being encountered on these sites due to the rugged terrain of this area and progress is being followed with interest, ._ A garage compound will soon be erected in the Townsite for the use of the tenants who are fortunate enough to own cars.
