MacKay ; founded Port Arthur Daily News in 1906 ; worked for Orillia Packet ; was printer's devil for five years ; editor of The News Letter of Orillia ; went to New York to work in printing firm with brother Fred ; Fred became superintendent of typography for Saturday Evening Post ; E. B. joined Vancouver News Advertiser, senior reporter ; went to Winnipeg in 1901 working for Winnipeg Telegram ; came to Port Arthur, founded Daily News ; Oliver F. Young, reporter, joined staff in 1907 ; absorbed Port Arthur Chronicle in 1916 ; gave birth to News-Chronicle ; invested in new building in 1911 on Lorne Street ; Mr. Harrison, secretary-treasurer
