Matti Hanni ; frontline soldier in Spanish War ; emigrated from Finland in 1926 ; working as bushworker ; decided to enlist ; entered training camp for the International Brigade ; saw action in Cataluna province ; didn't have enough ammunition to fight ; retreat ; lost over 20 men, two from Port Arthur ; left Spain in 1939 ; welcomed by Finnish community on return ; given free room at Mariaggi Hotel ; Veteran Affairs Ministry has done nothing for veterans ; at time of war Canadian Parliament said they were the enemy ; should ratify that ; photo
