- Mrs. Bernice Grattan, Elford Cousins ; born here in 1891 and 1887 ; family believed to be olderst in area ; grandfather a customs official in Lakehead ; father was Captain active on tugs and ships ; in 1865 nothing here but Hudson's Bay Co. fort and trapper shacks ; Evening-Chronicle in 1906 sold for 10 cents ; five cents in 1900 for streetcar fare from Port Arthur to Westfort ; Mr. Cousin's first work was for Walsh Coal Co. in 1903 ; also worked for railway and Abitibi Paper Co. ; photo
