- Francis Joseph Dyer, 79 ; harbor master for department of Transport ; 31 years in residence ; instructed naval recruits in navigation in World War II ; born at sea ; spend childhood at Cowes in Isle of Wight ; age of 11 went to sea ; obtaining master papers in sail at age 22 ; went to Kenora in 1924, year later to Port Arthur ; employed by United Towing and Salvage Co. ; early 1930's appointed sub-agent for department of Marine ; held position of harbor master at time of death ; photo
