- Macedonio Dolcetti born 1894 in Udine Italy ; early introduction to the bicycle ; fondness for working with mechanical things ; came to Port Arthur in 1911 ; started his first bicycle shop ; in 1915 when Italy entered war he left Canada ; served in government factory ; returned to Port Arthur newly married ; opened another bicycle shop ; has sold bicycles to four generations of some families ; elected member of Separate School Board in 1936 to 1954, 1958 to 1963 ; elected president of the Italian Mutual Benefit Society ; represented Italian community for King George visit in 1937 ; representative of school board welcoming Queen Elizabeth in 1962 ; founded Ortona Branch of Canadian Legion ; life member of Knights of Columbus ; photo
