Frank Brown ; Mrs. Frances Schmidt, granddaughter ; arrived at Lakehead 1857 ; set up 45 acre farm in Port Arthur, Clarkson Ave. area ; born in Brittany, France ; name Brown probably anglicized from French, Lebrun ; Roman Catholic faith ; donated property where St. Michael's Church stands ; came to Prince Arthur's Landing without his wife ; she travelled here to visit but did not like it ; photo (Mrs. Schmidt)
