10 NORSHORE SENTINEL Thursday 16, 1961 SCHREIBER SCRIBBLES by Norah McGuire I’m just back from doing my weekly shopping plus a short drive around town. The twins aren’t just satisfied to go to the store and back home! This beautiful March sun we’ve seen almost all week turns our thoughts towards spring housecleaning. Guess the local post office will be finished this job ahead of most of us. All this week it smelled of paint and varnish. With ‘wet paint signs all over the place one has to steer a true course from door to wicket. But oh it looks so nice and clean let’s help keep it that way. Just found out a handy use for those plastic liquid detergent bottles that everyone hates to throw away. A friend was telling me this morning that she cuts them off and uses the bottom for flower pots. Use your pinking shearers for added attraction. Mrs. Val Bourk is a patient in Toronto General Hospital. All this extra snow has made the local skiers happy. One of my neighbours, Boyer Gagnon, who has been in Toronto for the past year and a half is very happy about it all. Guess the past few weeks are the first opportunity the ski club has had to use its new hill. And many of the local youngsters spend after school hours busily digging tunnels in the high snow banks. Makes one wish they were young again !!
