old Ontario Bank first permanent bank here in 1875 ; part of Bank of Montreal ; called Prince Arthur's Landing then ; small wooden building ; chiefly occupied in fishing and lumbering pursuits ; landing point for travellers ; moved in 1907 ; merged with Bank of Montreal to corner of Lorne and Water streets ; nine years later moved to Whalen building ; first manager of Ontario Bank, W.
