Page 2. 6. I have very vague memories of the time when, as a small boy, I was shown the house in this photograph by my Father, Alexander John Isbester. This would probably have been about the year 1920 or thereabouts, when I would have been about six years of age. As I remember, the house was being demolished at the time that my Father showed it to m. 7. The sketch showing where the Isbester house at Port Arthur was located was prepared from my memory of the site at the time that the house was being demolished. 8. At the time that James Isbester with his family lived in this house neither the Canadian Northern Hotel nor the Vendome Hotel would have been in existence. 9. Neither the Canadian Northern Hotel nor the Vendome Hotel are in existence today, both having been demolished in recent years. If my memory serves me correctly there was once a men's clothing store, Erikkila (spelling ?) and Milton located in the Canadian Northern Hotel. The Vendome Hotel was once managed by a man named Donley (spelling ?). The Donley's later moved to the United States where Mr. Donley operated a hotel, The Carriage House, (name) at Batavia, New York. I can remember my younger brother Alex Isbester with his wife Eileen (Greene) Isbester visiting the Donleys at Batavia about the year 1951 or possibly it was 1952.
