1A This is an enlargement reproduced from Photograph No. 1. It shows the building in Schreiber erected by Kimberly Clark Corporation in the Fall of 1945 for use as an office and sleeping quarters for Kimberly Clark personnel during the winter of 1945 - 1946 while investigations were under way at Black siding looking for a site close to the Aguasabon River which would be suitable for a pulp mill and townsite development. This building was used by Kimberly Clark during 1946 and, if I remember correctly, on into 1947 until telephone communication could be established at the mill construction site. The building was ultimately sold to the Schreiber Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and became the Legion Hall. Some of the men who lived in this building during that winter of 1945 - 1946 included Malcolm Spiddell, James Isbester, Stanley Hodgkiss, John Delaronde and, from time to time, numerous visitors from Kimberly Claris head office in Neenah, Wisconsin. This photograph was taken sometime in March, 1946.
