- Description
- This wooden ship was carved by a German prisoner of war during the Second World War. A Prisoner of War Camp, called Camp Angler, was set up in Northwestern Ontario, where Neys Provincial Park is now situated. The prisoner gifted the ship carving to Canadian soldier John Malyna, who was stationed at Camp Angler in 1945. The word "Kriegsgefangenenlager", which is written on the ship's base, is the German word for Prisoner of War camps.
