- Black and white photograph of the boat remains of the Red River Expedition. This photograph was used on page 54 in Joseph M. Mauro's book titled "A History of Thunder Bay". Underneath the photograph in Mauro's book reads "Remains of the Red River Expedition's transports. They were incorporated into the Dawson Route's land-water system until railroad building began and the route was virtually abandoned. In 1870, troops had to push, pull and carry boats over numerous long, difficult portages.
