To the Mayor and Corporation of Paris
I have given in to the Assessor of Paris for 1870, an account of all my Lands lying west of the two Mill
pond, on Smiths Creek - being in the Queens Ward under protest - that I will not pay any tax [damaged] and Lands - or allow my tenant to pay taxes on my Lands until I have a good Wagon road to and from the same -
Let this be a sufficient Notice
with profound respect
