In 1905, during their re-union, the Paris Old Boys and Old Girls contributed $1500 for the placing of a fountain in front of the post office. It was erected in 1912. On the roadway side were two troughs — the upper for horses and the lower for dogs. On the other side was a fountain for human beings. The structure was removed about 1962. Paris Post Office in 1927. The decorations marked the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Confederation. A horse and buggy side by side with a 1926 Model-T Ford coupe indicates that the horse-days and the motor-car days were still overlapping.
