- Description
- This copy of a portrait painting depicts Hiram Phelps, the son of Epaphras Lord Phelps. Hiram was a successful farmer, and took a great interest in local affairs. He was Reeve of Brantford Township in 1854. His family lived in a large home on the Phelps tract, now 513 Mount Pleasant Road; some records indicate that, late in his life after retiring, he hired Alfred Grantham to build 531 Mount Pleasant Road after selling his farm.
