The knitting and winding room is the first actual process in which female help is required. Winding consists of reeling the yarn from small spools to the larger bobbins used on the knitting machines. Some of these will be noticed in the illustration. This is probably the simplest process in the entire plant and yet it affords a high remuneration for the operation. The knitting process will be described more in detail in the following pages.
