I think the document says the piece of land was in Brantford Township, in the County of Wentworth, in the District of Gore.
I have an ancestral step-relationship to a John Bray who built and was the original owner of what is today the "Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead" [Lot 14 Concession 3] in South Dumfries Township 1829-1851 time frame, so any references to any John Bray's are always of interest to me.
If you have access to the indenture of purchase & sale of Lot 14 Concession 3 & could digitize them, I would be extremely grateful.

Thank you for your message! I am glad you have found our Library's Digital Historical Collection interesting.
As you will see in the description section for the item you commented on, this particular document came from a private individual who has generously contributed it to the Library's online collection. Unfortunately, we do not have any other documents from their collection beyond what you see online already. That being said, in 2011 we hope to digitize the history of the South Dumfries area of our county, which is where the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead is located. It is possible that when that project happens, someone from that community may contribute information such as the type you are looking for. Please visit our site from time to time and keep looking--it's our goal to share as much information about the county as possible.
If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again!

Hello to you both
I was very interested in both the John Bray Deed and in the response that started this e-mail chain because I am the Curator of the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead.
I noticed that this deed only has one side digitized. Or perhaps there is another side that hasn't been uploaded yet. If you do have an image of the other side, I'd love to see it.
Also, to the writer above (John Bray connection), I would be very interested in connecting with you, not only to meet you but also so that I can look at the information that you have up to this point. We are planning an exhibit next year on John Bray as he was a veteran of the War of 1812.
Please contact me at 519-448-1130 or at adelaidehoodless@google.com
Thanks!

I have just come across this document on line and I am a direct descendant of John Bray that lived in South Dumfries. I don't believe that the John Bray mentioned in the document is the same. I suspect that he is John Bray, son of my John's brother,Mahlon, born in 1820 who lived in Brantford by the time of the 1851 sensus. My John was very settled at his property in South Dumfries by this time.
