I notice a few "[illigible] notations in the typed transcript. May I offer a few corrections relating to this?
On the cover, "[H??????dd]" should read "Thomas Gadd" "446 [illeigble] Dumfries" should read "446 Acres Dumfries "Gore D" should read "Gore D't" for Gore District "Coecorded 29 Jany 1836" should read "Recorded 29 Jan'y 1836" "[illegible] 171" should read "Liber CG folio 171" and "[illegible]" should read "D. Cameron Reg."
"Thomas Gadd, of the Town of Paris in the Township of Dumfries, in the County of Halton, in the District [illegible]" should read "...in the District of Gore"
"All that parcel or tract of Land, situate in the Township of Dumfries in the County of Halton in the District [illegible]" should read "...in the District of Gore"
"WITNESS, our trusty and well-beloved Sir John [Colleo??d] K.C.B. [?ient?nant] Governor of our said Provicne and [Ma?or???eral] Commanding our forces therein at Toronto this twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and thirty six and in the sixth year of our Reigh." should read "...WITNESS, our trusty and well-beloved Sir John Colborne K.C.B. Lieutenant Governor of our said Province and Major General Commanding our forces therein at Toronto this twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and thirty six and in the sixth year of our Reign." Also note "Province" and "Reign" were misspelled in your original translation.
"By Command of His Excellency in Council. [illegible]" should read "...By Command of His Excellency in Council. (signed) D. Cameron, Sy" Note that Duncan Cameron was Provincial Secretary at this time, and Sy was the abbreviation for Secretary in this time period.
Notes in the margins:
In the upper left margin it reads "J. Colborne"
In the middle left margin it reads "Robert Jameson Attorney General"
In the lower left margin it reads "O.C. 7 May 1835 Adm'n of Sir J. Colborne K.C.B &c
I hope you would be able to update the transcript as it would be easier to find in a Google search.
Thanks, Steve
