Description
This 1819 mortgage documents the sale of a large plot of land by William Dickson to John Holme. This transaction gave Holme lots 29, 30, 31 and 32 in the 1st Concession of Dumfries, which makes up the majority of the land of Paris north of the forks. In return, he received £500. The document itself was signed in 1819; it also contains notes up to 1823 about Holme's payments for the land.

This land would later make it into the possession of his brother William Holme, and, later still, Hiram Capron. The indentures documenting these transactions are also a part of this collection and are linked to on the right.

This document was cited on page 8 of volume I of At the Forks of the Grand.
Notes
The illegible portions in the centre line read "interest for the same, by five [remainder of line illegible]".
