On August 26, 1914, the first volunteers from Paris to serve in World War I were given a big sendoff. They were driven to the Grand Valley Railway Station, then taken by Model-T's to Brantford. The volunteers (in the foreground) are: Napoleon Larin, Aylmer Eraser, Sergeant A. E. Cullum, Patrick Fitzpatrick, Ivor Murray, William Mears.
