- Description
- Headstone at Salt Springs Cemetery for Robert Hamilton, his wife Mary, and three other members of the Hamilton family, James N., Jessie, and William. Robert was born in 1838 and died in 1920. Mary was born in 1840 and passed in 1933. James N. was born in 1874 and died in 1914. William was born in 1869 and died in 1946. Jessie Hamilton was born in 1844 and died in 1923. Based on dates, James and William could be the sons of Robert and Mary, and Jessie is likely a sibling of Robert.
- Notes
- Located right next to the Salt Springs Church on the Grand River, the Salt Springs Cemetery has been in operation since 1822. The cemetery is still active under the management of the Salt Springs Cemetery Board of Trustees. There is a plaque on the property that tells the history of the Grand River Mission.
