Description

Headstone at Salt Springs Cemetery for Edward McLean, his wife Mary, and their children James, Cassie, Edward, Amanda, and Edith. Edward Sr. Died on the 20th of November, 1881 at the age of 67. He was originally from Fermanagh, Ireland. Mary was 79 when she died on December 29th 1913.

James passed on November 6th 1921 at 55 years old. Cassie died on February 2nd 1893 at 23. Edward was 11 years old when he passed on June 24th 1864. Amanda passed away August 16th 1872 at 6 months old. Edith M. was 7 months old when she died on August 22nd 1873.

Notes

Located right next to the Salt Springs Church on the Grand River, the Salt Springs Cemetery has been in operation since 1822. The cemetery is still active under the management of the Salt Springs Cemetery Board of Trustees. There is a plaque on the property that tells the history of the Grand River Mission.
