- Description
- Headstone at Salt Springs Cemetery for Sarah V. Dearnley. She died on February 23rd 1881, though the headstone is faded and no more can be read. According to Interment.net she was the daughter of J.W. and C. Dearnley and was 4 years and 9 months old when she died.
Dearnley may be a misspelling of Darnley or vice-versa, as Sarah is right next to Joseph E. Darnley and both of their parents have the same initials. Another Unamed Darnley is buried nearby and is possibly related. - Notes
- Located right next to the Salt Springs Church on the Grand River, the Salt Springs Cemetery has been in operation since 1822. The cemetery is still active under the management of the Salt Springs Cemetery Board of Trustees. There is a plaque on the property that tells the history of the Grand River Mission.
