Description
This item is a letter sent from J.M. McEwen, a merchant from St. George, to George Foster and Sons on 26 January, 1904. Mr. McEwen writes of goods that he accidently received instead of what he intentionally ordered. He would like there to be some difference in price for the items to be delivered.
Notes
George Foster and Sons was a Wholesale Grocery business initially located at 143 Colborne Street before relocating to a larger building at 251 Colborne Street on the historic South Side of Brantford.

St. George, Jan 26/04

Mr. [dale]

Dear Sirs,

The goods of 14th inst.

[illegible] and I find the harvest

has sent me instead of wrapped

chimney. Chimney packed in

straw. I would much preferred

to have had what was ordered

but avail keep [illegible] providing

a [illegible] allowances, or the

difference in price of [wrapped]

+ pack. Ie. 2c per day
