Description
This item is a letter sent from Thomas McCosh, a Paris merchant, to George Foster and Sons dated June 29, 1901. After enclosing orders, Mr. McCosh writes that Paul, a client, had incorrectly received two cases of Mannford peas last Monday in addition to lacking acknowledgement of his previous order of $50 in connection to Brantford Stonewall Co. He wished to receive a new shipment of Dunnville peas, corn, and tomatoes. Mr. McCosh also mentions meeting Mr. Norman the previous night, and that he will soon travel to Brussels on Monday and Jamestown on the Tuesday and into Richmond on Tuesday night.

George Foster and Sons was a Wholesale Grocery business initially located at 143 Colborne Street before relocating to a larger building at 251 Colborne Street on the historic South Side of Brantford.

George Foster + Sons

Brantford

Gentlemen,

Herewith enclosed

please find orders. Send

[E.L] Paul June peas. You sent him

[Mannford] last time 2 cases, he

sent an order in on Monday and

remitted ($75.00) he got the goods

and [paid] but no acknowledgement

of the [earlier] orders for $50.00 and ($25.00)

please see about [enclose] from the

Brantford Stonewall Co. for him

I could do nothing with Mr. [Burton]

he brought Dunnville peas corn and

tomatoes from [Gillard] of

6y1/2 [illegible] [fermented] as good as

[illegible]. I saw Mr. [Norman] last night

Bayfront. was served with a writ a [illegible]

he has heard nothing since. On Monday afternoon

I will go to Brussels and on Tuesday down to Jamestown

and Brussels and will be in [Richmond] on Tuesday night.
