Description
This item is a letter sent from the Simpson Brothers, merchants from Onondaga, to George Foster and Sons on January 29, 1904. The Simpson Brothers state that Mr. Clark, one of their clients, had made a buying offer for the Fosters property and had mentioned the Simpsons to help determine the right price. Though they believe the property is not as valuable as it once was, with some maintenance it can fetch a good price that would satisfy both parties involved in the sale.

Notes
George Foster and Sons was a Wholesale Grocery business initially located at 143 Colborne Street before relocating to a larger building at 251 Colborne Street on the historic South Side of Brantford.

George Foster & Sons

Brantford

Dear Mr. Foster

One of our [clients] Mr. J.W. Clark

tells us to night that be [had] made you

[an] offer for your property near Cainsville

and that you had mentioned our name [in]

regard to getting an idea of the present

value of the [space]. If not assuming to

much in the matter would say that we

believe the property has deteriorated considerably

in value during the last few years as a

property of this [description] needs a continual

[outlay] in order that it may be kept in

first class condition as it was to all

appearances some years ago. We thank Mr.

Clarke as [considerable] and [illegible] may

and will no doubt offer all he feels the

property is worth and would be pleased

to [know] that you had been successful

in making a satisfactory sale.

Yours truly

Simpson Bros
