- This 8 April 1998 Burford Times article announces that the Burford Agricultural Society has begun to rebuild the grandstand at the local fairgrounds, which had burned down a few months prior. Chairman of the Buildings and Grounds Committee Doug Smith operated an earth mover and Director of the Buildings and Grounds Committee George Campbell worked a leveling device.
