- Description
- This August 26, 1998 article in the Burford Times describes the role that the Princeton library plays in its community and its history over the past 100 years.
The first library in Princeton was in the post office, and the postmaster Mr. Galbraith tended to the books. He was succeed by Fred Vickert and then Thomas Starr, who moved the book to another building, then to the Soldier's Memorial Library in 1921, where the library stayed until a new facility was built in 1997 after a donation from the late Frank Cowan.
The librarian at the time this article was published was Margaret Kip, who is the successor of Elizabeth Wells, Mrs. Milton, Mrs. Gurney, and Marguerite Anderson.
The article also advertises a Murder Mystery Dinner fundraiser, and lists the new library's hours of operation. - Publisher
