- This January 24, 1996 article in the Burford Times describes a gala hosted by the Lion's Club in celebration of their 50th anniversary.
Township Reeve Robert Chambers gave an address, and Pryor Harris was named a Melvin Jones Fellow by District Governor Larry Taylor. Judge Brian Stevenson was a special guest and gave a speech. Pat and John Wedge provided music for dancing.
