This October 12, 1993 Burford Times article discusses the benefits of emu farming in the wake of a downturn in tobacco farming, and notes that emu can be farmed for meat, oil, eggs, and leather. Armindo and Janet Lopes are responsible for introducing emu farming to Brant County.
