Toronto 1 July 1844 Sir. I send you for your + Helen [illegible] signature a petition to the Governor General for letters patent of the land at [illegible] [pleasant?]. The petition must be accompanied by a Surveyors description of your respective shares which I wish you to prove as soon as possible. It seems that about the year 1835 [Augustus?] [Halion?] claimed a patent of part of the lands comprised in the lease. I wish you could find out whether he got his title under your lease, & if so, whether it was produced to the government at that time, or what other papers he produced to show his title and what has become of such papers. I expect to be going to Kingston about the latter end of next week & I [illegible] be glad If you [illegible] me the petition [signed? With the descriptions & information by that time. I have sent the plan to make out the descriptions which you are please to return If you know of any persons besides [Werhok?] & [Spern?] who can swear to having seen the lease in your father [adages?] [illegible] with the [lease?] & [signature?] of [illegible] [Brant?] to it, it would be as will to get their [applicants] Your [illegible] Servant W.B. Kreele
