M T L elissa North moved from Sydney, Australia, to Paris, Ontario in 2006. "There's a beautiful sense of community here," she says. "This is where I want to raise my children." She has a degree in journalism and writes and edits for a regional homes magazine. She's a proud mama, avid reader, and an obsessed quilter. ony North moved to Brant County with his wife and two children in 2006. "We wanted to find a small, friendly town and Paris was perfect." He teaches English and drama at Paris District High School and has witnessed many fine young writers come through his classroom door. Recently, he finished a first draft of a novel. When he gets stuck for ideas, he runs. ynn Synotte (nee: Fowler) called Apps' Mill home until 1971 when the property was purchased by the Grand River Conservation Authority. Lynn resides in Burns Lake, BC where she has worked in many capacities at the Lakes District College of New Caledonia. She is now the lead for marketing and recruitment for the Lakes Campus. Lynn is married and has four children and four grandchildren. She still has family and friends in Brant County and visits regularly. on Yorksie's early days in Scotland, 1950-1967, were spent learning mechanics from his father who owned New Service Garage. He apprenticed then earned his mechanic's license. In 1974, he joined the Paris Police Force as a Constable and later became an Ontario Provincial Police officer and worked in/patrolled all parts of Brant County. While patrolling or answering calls in Scotland, he met people he knew from years past. He now lives in Brantford. R 54
