Winnipeg Sept. 23 1932

Dear Brother

I am writing you a few lines

to let you know I am still alive

[illegible] in hard luck. I have been

sick for a long time I had six

operations and have not been able

to do everything for a year but

am getting better now. It cost me

$150 for each time they cut me

open to gether with hospital bills

it took all the spare cash I had

I don't know what I am going to

do I cant get any more money before

next summer so I thought if you

could send me a hundred dollars

till next summer I will pay

you good interest - it will sure

help me over a hard place

Page 2:

Times are very hard here wheat

is only worth 38 [cents] per bushel to the

farmers and 50 [cents] [illegible]

there has been quite a lot of rain

this fall but I think the weather

is settled now bright but cool I

am all alone in this world

and in a tight box just now if

you can help me out I wish you

would I hate to ask any body for

help but I would rather ask you

than strangers if you think you

can, let me know right away for I

need it badly.

Hoping to hear from you

Right away

[I remain]
