Go Home, Ont.
Aug. 21 '51.
Dear Mrs. Deveney,
Your letter with its' en-
closure was forwarded to me
here at our summer home
(My husband is a teacher. So
we have two months!). It
was ever so good of you to
see that I got a picture of
Harley Hall, and has saved
me having to make a trip
to get it - so clear too.
I left map-making behind
when we came here, as I have
had the grandchildren, and
to fill up 9 hungry people
three times a day (at least)
in a place where the nearest
store is Midland, via boat,
requires some planning! There
are no roads here at all.
We go everywhere by boat,
no electricity, (you should
see me wield an axe) - also
no dust as it's so rocky +
without the roads + cars it's
a wonderful place to spend
the summer with a family
as they learn to row, swim,
chop wood, bake bread, do
carpenter work, and work and
play together.
Thank you for your
help, Mrs. Deveney. I hope
the 25c will pay for print
but your kindness I cannot
repay.
Yours Sincerely,
Jeanine Kinton
