- Edwin Stokfelt Abrahamsen Sandberg immigrated to Brantford, Ontario in January 18, 1910 with three other tailors from Trondhiem, Norway. On June 15, 1910 Edwin's wife, Jenny Holmer Sandberg and son, Asberg (Osborne) Markel b, Marcj 17, 1909, joined him. Jenny was with child who was born Charles Andrew on August 28, 1910. The following children arrived: Eimer Sigruid - January 26, 1912, Henry Holmer - February 7, 1913, Clarence Gordon - December 6, 1914 and twins Harold Olaf and Ruth Gladys - November 26, 1916. Edwin and Jenny lived at 103 Terrace Hill in Brantford and belonged to the Faith Evangical Lutheran Church. On June 29, 1917 Edwin had a heart attack and died. He is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery along with his son Eimer. Jenny was unable to find means of support for her family so she began looking for some help from family in the United States. After several months her sister in South Dakota offered to take them in on a farm near Alcester, South Dakota, USA. In January of 1918 Jenny and the children arrived by train in a snow storm. Several members of the family have come to Brantford to visit the place of our parent's birth. It is a beautiful city.
