This photo is before 1945. Probably around 1900-1910.
The old mill on the East side of the river was a waterpowered mill and the mill race can be seen as it runs back into the Grand. It may have been removed when the LE&N was put through around 1914. As a young boy in the Glen in the 30's I remember the remenant's of the dam and the mill race.

The river is not in flood in this photo. The bridge piers are all visible and not under water. Also there are no wires for telephones or hydro so this photo is certainly pre-1900 and possibly 1880-90
