Archie King bought this land from Cleve Miller (George Stewart's son-in-law) after George died in 1944. Archie built a one-story block garage about 1949. He died in 1952, and his son Ray King took over his Dad's bus line and the garage. A second story was added about 1953 to the front half of the garage for an apartment where Ray and Ellen lived. Ray sold to Ed and Mary Grasley in the 1970s. The next owner was Archie King's granddaughter, Susan and her husband Ab. Metaclf in 1983. They added a convenience store in one bay of the garage and later sold to Alice and A1 Cain in 1986.
The apartment was rented out for a time to Gerald and Maureen Coombs, and a teacher. This business has changed hands again and as of 16 June, 2000, Barb & Al Stewart will take possession. Al & Alice are moving west to Calgary. - Date of Publication
