I attended school in the white building the fall of 1949. The 'new' school was being built. We moved into it after Christmas ... so that was January 1950. The students were thrilled to have indoor washrooms and to have only 2 grades in each classroom. The only new thing that I did not enjoy was the milk and a cod liver oil pill that we were given daily to begin our afternoon.

My father and all his siblings would have gone to school here. The Stewart family farm was almost directly across the street, the house set back from the road, but accessible in the 1950s and 60s by a long lane or driveway.
