Braves Battle Chief Hockey Rivals Tonight Pete Palangio's Black Hawks - currently riding the crest of a pleasant three-game victory streak in the DHA--meet their most formidable opposition from down Sundridge way tonight in the hopes of adding to their wide advantage atop the loop. Bucko McDonald's Beavers, humiliated at the hands of a scrappy but shorthanded Canada Packers band Saturday, are still snortin" mad and hope to take it out on their arch-rivals from Pete Palangio's Teepee. Sundridge, who seem to save their best hockey for the Black Hawks, aren't to be taken lightly. The:" Hi a win-hungry club out there t^uight and the Black Hawks will have to be prepared to play trei^ best to win. The Tribe will be missing Cliff Ryan, a winger with cyclonic speed, who is out of action with a twisted knee. The Braves are expected to shift Chick Cecchini into centre spot again as in the Powassan game and move Dwyer ? ? ? over to left wing to take Ryan's place on the trio with veteran Willie Meloche. Together for the first time, the trio exploded foi six of the seven Black Hawk.- tallies against Powassan Tuesday with Cecchini going on a goal- spree to notch four. Maestro Pete Palangio hopes the unit does likewise tonight against the Sundridge crew. Sundridge have been operating just ordinarily so far, finding it unusually tough to win on their | own ice, where they have dropped two tilts to Packers and another to Powassan in OHA competition. In four contests with the Beaver^ thus far the Tribe has clicked for , two victories and a tie. Earlier this season Sundridge's ' burly coach and Member of Parliament made the announcement I that his Beavers were even more powerful this season than last. If such is the case then the rest of the DHA teams have certainly ! made a great improvement too. One of the better twin-bills, i | tonight's junior tilt is also ex- j i jted to produce some sparkling hockey. ONR Indians, hoping to continue their upward trend, face the acid test in their battle with Scollard Hall Bears. A win for the Railroaders would give them a share of second place in the loop standing with the green and gold. The doublet gets under way as usual at 7 o'clock.
