South River's main street Ottawa Ave looking West from the GTR crossing. The first building on the left is the renovated Queens Hotel (destroyed by fire 1909) with the first building on the right being the King Edward Hotel (built in 1902)...

The Old Queens was renovated and modernized by the Prunty before the 1909 fire. As he owned the King Edward as well by 1909 he never rebuilt the Old Queens. Prunty opted to renovate the King Edward and renamed it the New Queens Hotel. When Percival acquired the New Queens Hotel he in turn renamed it the Norland Hotel
