Standard Chemical Saw Mill West end view. The open looking portion on the left side of the mill is the live rollers and sorting shed area. The larger dark structure appearing at the left end of the sorting shed is one of the sawdust dumps. The wooden peaked section housed the saw, carriage, etc.
The mill appears to be under construction in this photo as the lumber sidings do yet seem to be laid.
The mill started sawing logs in 1926 and only operated when the river was ice free.
Orlo Cooper is thought to be the photographer.

Having acquired the original of this photo it can now be confirmed that the photographer was Orlo.Cooper and the date on the photo is 1925 .... Orlo was in charge of the construction of the Saw Mill and the upgrading of the wooden trestle over the South River .... The saw mill was a Waterous Band Saw with 90inch wheels,800rpm,95hp and a 48 foot double edged band saw blade.
