- Description
- The Historical Society is particularly indebted to Waitstill ‘Waity’ Croswell, Joyce Crossman, Jack Crossman, Orma Quinn, Lynn Abbot Lennox, the Wellever family. Richard Moore, Norma Hill-Watt and the late John Macfie for the photos and associated descriptions.
- Notes
- In later years, the front entranceway to the Ahmic Harbour School was replaced, as is apparent from this picture from the 1940’s. The new addition came about, no doubt, because of the demand for indoor facilities.
By 1950, the old brick school was very much out of date. In 1949 the people of S.S. No. 1, Croft were invited to join the new Continuation School at Magnetawan, but decided that they would rather build a new school of their own. The new school was built in 1952 across the road from the original school which became the community centre. - Place of Publication
