- Notes
- At time of writing, a date for the initial transfer of property from John Croswell to the Dodge Lumber Company has not been found. However, it appears to have been one of the earliest transactions in the new village. Regardless, of the date, the property clearly was originally transferred to lumber company interests and on October 22, 1920 (registered February 11, 1921) the property was transferred by grant from Nelson G. Holland to W.E. Bigwood, A.C. Maubert and Henry George.
After the deaths of the above named lumber industry principals, the land was formally transferred February 10, 1950 (registered March 2, 1950) to John H. Newell for $1. This transfer follows by decades the actual transfer of interest. Following the death of John H. Newell, the property transferred to Annie Newell, his widow June 25, 1951 (registered August 14, 1951).
October 3, 1951 (registered October 15, 1951) Annie (Bradley) Newell officially transferred the property to William H. Wellwood for $1.
The sale of the property to the Wellwood family formalized an occupation that was already occurring.
The building burned around 1960.
