- Notes
- The boat in this picture is possibly the “Cecebe” built in 1886 in Burks Falls and owned by the Muskoka and Nipissing Navigation Company. It was one of the smaller boats operating on the Magnetawan system at just 31 feet 7 inches in length by 7 feet 2 inches in width and weighed 11 tons. It operated until at least 1896. At the time of this photo, the dock and storage building were owned by the Muskoka and Nipissing Navigation Company having been purchased from John and Mary Ann Croswell July 8, 1887 (registered June 13, 1887). The building behind the boat is likely ‘Black’ Charles Croswell’s blacksmith shop.
